Entrepreneurship Story
My entrepreneurship
story beings with my father’s and I’s company. As immigrants we came to this
country for the American dream, which we have accomplished. Throughout my
academic career, I regrettably had no choice but to dutifully incorporate
myself into the family business full-time. My father herniated three disks and
was bedridden for several months and has since been unable to perform the heavy
manual labor involved in our a/c service business. The business is the only
source of income for my family and required my attention in order to stay
afloat. Therefore, I divided every instant of time I could muster between a
schedule of classes, labs, homework and a full-time Job without a wage. Even
so, I still continued my involvement within the business, managing phone calls,
attending to all correspondence, and driving down for big jobs. In 2017, I
began examinations to become a certified Florida Air Conditioning Contractor
which would allow for the necessary expansion of the business. Once I was able
to pass the necessary licensing exams, I became the qualifying agent and the
co-owner. Since I have been managing certain aspects of the company. Also, I have
set myself on a journey to expand my knowledge on the business world. Thus, my
reason for taking ENT3003; this course can provide me with the proper skills to
expand to new heights.
Hi Cesar, awesome story by the way! Respect! I too am here for a similar purpose, to analyze and learn how to see things through the lens of an entrepreneur and how to apply that to real life. I hope to accomplish that as we get further into this course and begin to test our brains in ways that we often overlook.
