Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2
Who: I
conducted my interviews at two different locations. Luckily, I went to
the shooting range during a week day, without surprise was filled with older gentlemen,
who were veterans. This was a good place to start my interviews. After
interviewing five individuals about my facility for senior citizens, all which
I thought had the unmet need, yet for some reason they didn’t, I was able to
draw the boundaries of this opportunity belief;
- Gentlemen #1 (Vietnam veteran): He seemed to think that such a place would be for weak men. “Only old weak men would go to a place to play bingo”. I explained the amounts of activities provided which his response to was still a hard “no”.
- Gentlemen #2 (Korea Veteran): “I would like to attend your water sports class. It will remind me of my high school swimming days”. He was offset by the membership financial aspect of it, since “I already pay a membership to shoot here, why pay to go swimming”.
- Gentlemen #3 (Gun enthusiast): He looked at me with joy as I told him about my idea. He stated that I should try to “bring a fresh young feel to it”. He explained that a lot of locations set for servicing “old people” were “depressing and smelled like old people”. So, if its was like that he would never go.
- Gentlemen #4 (Vietnam veteran): He said he would never attend a place like mine because he would be too busy. He helps his son run a small local business and he “would have better things to do then jump around”.
After running out of interviewees, I quickly had to change scenery.
I proceeded to Publix where I found an older couple shopping for groceries.
- Older couple #5: They seemed interested in my idea from the beginning of the interview. After explaining the aspects of it, they were on board. “I would love to take all your different classes and the rehabilitation is great”. The gentlemen explained that he had sustained an injury which required rehabilitation and a local business would not provide transportation for his wife, as company and moral support, since she was not the affected party. So, if transportation wasn’t provided he would rather not attend.
What: I believe that my facility can provide a combination of activities and physical therapy that most places do not combine, while providing a fun environment. A lot of rehabilitation centers have older individuals live in house for some duration which can be tedious for some. This can be solved with great transportation. I believe my opportunity belief of this facility is different from anything out there available right now. Yet these folks feel otherwise and have every right to do so, it wasn’t built for everyone.
Why: These people are outside my boundary right now, that’s not permanent, in the future with growth and popularity, they could reduce their skepticism.
Inside the boundary
|
Outside the boundary
|
Who is In: Older
individuals that are retired and need something to fill their day, others
that have lost a love one and need support. People who have been injured.
|
Who is Not: Folks with high standards of what social interaction should
be like. Proud older individuals that prefer to be alone. Older semiretired individuals.
|
What the Need Is: the need is anyone who is over 65 that is
lonely or need their days filled with activities and socialization. A community
that can support each other through what their peers only understand. Also, Older
people that are required to attend physical rehabilitation due to injury.
|
What the Need Is Not: Harden by life’s hardships and can’t seem to allow
themselves to lower their guard. If they
cannot seem to retire or open their schedules.
|
Why the Need Exists: the need exist because of human nature. It is
human nature to surround ourselves with people who understand us. The older
one gets the more susceptible you are to loneliness, either due to a lost of
a love one or rejection form family. Injury is a inevitable factor of age, with
time bones become weak and brittle, and this is something we as humans will
always experience.
|
Alternative Explanations: Being old school? Doing things
their way, stubbornness? A natural rejection to new things. Plain ole disinterest. |
The demographic is restricted, however there’s still a market for it, we should go forward with this opportunity. Finding a way to accommodate transportation and form a clean and comfortable environment is key. Keeping staff happy can essential make this happen, while providing a good brand name within the urbanized senior citizen community. The more I expanded my interviews into rural Gainesville (shooting range) the less of a market I saw, so staying in urbanized communities is where my market is based.

Solving The Problem
Opportunity:
Fitness has gained a lot of
attention over the past few years. This attention has been prompted towards a
younger market with new supplement products, new gym locations, and Instagram
models promoting their physiques; But, this has left a saturated market with thousands
of companies all competing for the same consumer. Targeting young adults has
been their bread and butter; however, this leaves the elderly out of the
equation and creates a great opportunity. Also, something we all forget is that
there is a lot of money to be made in the heath industry, say hello to Medicare.
Product/Service:
The product/service I want to
provide consists of a facility located in Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL., where 18.7
percent of the population are 65 years old and above. This facility would be tailored
to keep older individuals active with programs like Pilates, yoga for elderly,
active game, and mentally stimulating activities. These programs would be funded
privately depending on member statues, which would be based on a monthly or
yearly fee. The public sector of the company would run on “Medicare”. For those
who don’t know, “Medicare is the federal health insurance program created in
1965 to provide health coverage for Americans aged 65 and older”. This would
provide clients with necessary physical therapies, injury rehabilitations, government
implemented meal plans, all for an in-house physical therapy department. Transportation
would be provided for those who are not able to attend through their own means.
Products like healthy pre-made shakes would be promoted and sold independently
and could potentially hit local stores for elderly individuals to have access
to when grocery shopping. The company could extend its resources into lobbying
for government founding of its other privately founded activities.
Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1
There are no local
food trucks on campus during lunch hours
- The
who: The small local businesses in the Gainesville area.
- The
what: The school seems to have contracts with “big business”,
for example Chick-fil-A, and this remove options for students. Students,
who prefer a local entity and not a mass produced product.
- The
why: “Big business” has managed control over student chooses,
monopolizing what sells on campus. Therefore, students are left with
options like deep-fried chicken or extra salted deep-fried potatoes, and five
dollar cup of Starbucks coffee, while benefiting the schools profit but
not student health.
As most you already know, I’m from Miami, and right in the middle of our city we have FIU (Florida International University) and UM (University of Miami). These campuses both have a few main stream restaurants on campus or their a short walk off campus. Plus, a few food trucks, which means they have options. I have seen students line up at the food truck, which were managed by students and local small business. This gave student a wide price range to choose from. Now, those are options.
Interviews
- First
subject-
- How
do you feel about our food availability on campus?
- I
really enjoy the diversity of restaurants. The food court at Reitz has a
lot to pick from but the food sometimes sucks.
- When
was the last time you had Chick-fill-A or Starbucks?
- I
don’t like fried food but it was right next to me when walking to class so
I just had sandwich. No Starbucks for me, I don’t like American coffee.
- What
food options, if any, would you like to add to campus?
- La
Tendia Latina, I love their Mexican home cooking!
- Second
subject-
- How
do you feel about our food availability on campus?
- I
wish there were more options, and that the people making it cared more.
I had Moe’s and the rice was under-cooked and hard.
- When
was the last time you had food on campus?
- I
don’t remember, I usually prep my own meals at home.
- What
food options if any would you add to the campus?
- I don’t
really mind the options now, I don’t stay long enough on campus to
really care about them.
- Third
subject-
- How
do you feel about our food availability on campus?
- I
like it, back home there is no food on campuses except for a bakery, so
this is a huge. I sometimes don’t know what to get.
- When
was the last time you had food on campus?
- I
just had Pollo Tropical.
- What
food options if any would you add to the campus?
- Kebabs,
Or a type of coffee other than Starbucks, like a local coffee shop!
- Fourth
subject-
- How
do you feel about our food availability on campus?
- I
am content with the food availability on campus. However, when I am
studying late at night or on weekends it is not as easy to find healthy
options.
- When
was the last time you had Chick-fill-A or Starbucks?
- I
had chick-fil-a three days ago. To my convenience there are several
locations around campus.
- What
food options if any would you add to the campus?
- I would
add healthier fast food options such as green smoothies.
- Fifth
subject-
- How
do you feel about our food availability on campus?
- Overall,
I am pleased with the amount of food available throughout campus. Most
food places are walking distance from the libraries on campus which I enjoy.
- When
was the last time you had Chick-fill-A or Starbucks?
- I
don't really eat on campus, I take meal prep at home to save money. I'll
occasionally buy coffee at Starbucks.
- What
food options if any would you add to the campus?
- I
would add a Chipotle on campus cause the other location is out of my way
when I’m at the hospital volunteering. I feel like their meals are very
satisfying and the prices aren't too harsh on your wallet.
Summarizing
When analyzing UF’s 2,000 acres of land you can clearly see that there is more than enough room for food trucks. Setting a small ground for trucks with picnic tables all around may give students a fun environment to eat. I understand that students struggle financially but lines at Starbucks never seem to end, so there is money to make. Now, all that is needed is to bring it elsewhere.

Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends
“US-China
trade war: New tariffs come into force”
I found this opportunity while reading an article
on the BBC main website in the business section. With the US and China going
toe-to-toe in a tariffs war, pricing of goods are increasing and may not stop
until a compromise is met, but in the meantime there are points to exploit on
either side. Goods like coal, copper scrap, fuel, have all found their way into
China’s list of added tariffs. Thus, potentially leaving China’s industrial
market hungry for manufacturing materials and fuel sources, like coal. This
opportunity seems easily exploited with the right tools and knowledge. Our calm
level-headed US president does not seem to have any intentions to reduce
tariffs on goods, leaving China’s demands looking for a new supplier. I am sure
others have seen the tariff war between China and the US; however, as an
individual who has worked as an A/C mechanic, I can see that the mechanical
aspect of the industrialized Chinese market is going to need these metals to
continue production.
“Amazon deal shakes
healthcare sector”
Amazon, the power-hungry superpower,
has decided to expand into the medical field by buying PillPack. Pillpack is a
multimillion dollar pharmaceutical company that prepackages prescription drugs
in individual bags for a more efficient experience. I found this article on the
BBC business section and it immediately caught my attention. Knowing that
amazon is expanding into the pharmaceutical market where the majority of
costumers are elderly people who struggle with technology may leave room for
improvement. Setting a third-party system to make sure that each elderly
individual gets there prescription and knows how to order there prescription
may be beneficial to everyone. This opportunity may present itself to be
difficult as Amazon seem to like to keep business within the family, so a third
part may not be welcomed. I came up with this idea because I’ve seen my grandma
trying to use a remote, I have never seen some staring at something with such
confusion. Thus, leading to my understand that elderly people need a helping
hand when it comes to the use of technology.
GM recalls 1.2 million vehicles
Also, I found these articles on the
BBC and on the ABC News website. GM has recalled 1.2 million SUVs and pick up
trucks for issues with power steering. As technology advances in vehicles more
and more variables are added that can go wrong. Implementing a firm that
extensively evaluates technologically advanced devices may led to less
malfunctions as the bad products are weeded out. The costumers for such a firm
can be car manufactures and or other tech-savvy companies that need to place a
product safety rating. This opportunity seems relatively difficult to start
since you’d have to build a name for the companies. If not its stamp of
approval, quality and safety, will mean nothing to the consumer. Reason I saw
this opportunity is that I understand the conscious safety buyer and that when
deciding to invest in something it is priceless to have someone reassure your
decision.
Use it or lose it
“Use it or lose it” is a popular
saying in today’s sociality, especially as the fitness industry grows. The
fitness industry has grown rapidly over the past few years, with new supplement
products overfilling shelves, new gym locations popping up all over cities, and
Instagram models promoting a ridiculous physique while calming no use of
steroids. However, this market is targeting young adults leaving the elderly
out of the equation. There is an opportunity for a whole new market. Cities
like Tampa-St. Petersburg, FL., where 18.7 percent of the population are 65 and
above, according to Forbes magazine, would be a place start. Implementing bus
services for pick-ups, facilities created to keep elderly people active, and
offering classes from nutrition to exercise. I think with a fitness community distracted
on competing for one target audience it may be easy to become the leader in
elderly fitness/health. My reason for seeing this opportunity is that I understand
the importance of remaining active. Watching the elderly people in my life stay
sedentary not because they choose not to, but because they lack opportunity.

Identifying Local Opportunities
Identifying
Local opportunities
1. “Home Depot just recalled 210,000 of these
hurricane helpers for possible shock hazard” (https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AMIHB%21Miami%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2018%212018/mody%3A0912%21September%2B12&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/16E64565D4872468)
Summary: Over 210,000 RIDGID NXT wet/dry vacuums are being recalled for
electrical issues that can potentially shock users, and I don’t mean figuratively.
Problem: The problem is with the ON/OFF switch that can easily be detached,
exposing wiring and potentially shocking individuals working in wet environment.
This is an engineering issue, not an assembly one, with proper engineering a
switch that embeds into the unit with a tight seal is not impossible to make.
Adding extra silicon silent around the switch or even welding it can solve this
issue.
Who has the problem: The problem is for all users with carpet or with
water damage. Currently, with Florence heading towards the Carolinas a dry/wet vacuum
is absolutely necessary for all individuals that suffered from water damage.
2.“FDA warning says some liquid nitrogen drinks and desserts can
kill you or damage organs” (https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/openurl?ctx_ver=z39.88-2004&rft_id=info%3Asid/infoweb.newsbank.com&svc_dat=WORLDNEWS&req_dat=0D0CB57BE7FF6D8A&rft_val_format=info%3Aofi/fmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Actx&rft_dat=document_id%3Anews%252F16E5F9ED55A9D660)
Summary: Liquid nitrogen has an extremely low
boiling point (-320 F°), which means that it can only existed
in liquid form under very high pressure. Once release to atmospheric pressure
is beings to evaporate. With a growing fad of liquid nitrogen foods, the FDA now
is considering this a dangerous food that
can cause damage to skin or organs if used improperly.
Problem: Since liquid nitrogen boils at -320 F°
this means that if any liquid that has not evaporated is swallowed your organs
will be exposed to its same temperature. Thus, causing stage 4 frostbite, which means cell
death. So, if it is used improperly by untrained professionals, which is
usually the case at “kiosks, food courts and fair stands”, it can become a hazard.
Who has the problem: The problem is for any consumer that is
willing to expose themselves to any selection of food prepared with this ingredient.
3.“Florida man stole diesel fuel from Adam
Putnam's family, deputies say”(https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/openurl?ctx_ver=z39.88-2004&rft_id=info%3Asid/infoweb.newsbank.com&svc_dat=WORLDNEWS&req_dat=0D0CB57BE7FF6D8A&rft_val_format=info%3Aofi/fmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Actx&rft_dat=document_id%3Anews%252F16E605B443B9F6D8)
Summary: A “Florida Man”, Donald Fowler, had stolen
60 gallons of diesel Fuel from a family owned Citric Grove. He was found hauling
a trailer without taillights or a license plate.
Problem: A petty thief was able to steal 60
gallons of diesel fuel with such easy. The only reason he was caught was
because the officer who made the arrest was at the right time and place.
Without any safety measures from the landowners what’s to say that this won’t
happen again.
Who has the problem: This is a problem for all agricultural
farmers that possess diesel storage takes on site.
4.“Who bludgeoned two high school students on
FIU's north campus? Police investigate.”(https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/openurl?ctx_ver=z39.88-2004&rft_id=info%3Asid/infoweb.newsbank.com&svc_dat=WORLDNEWS&req_dat=0D0CB57BE7FF6D8A&rft_val_format=info%3Aofi/fmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Actx&rft_dat=document_id%3Anews%252F16E605B4695AA798)
Summary: Local high school students are
severally beaten while working on a school project. Bela Perdomo and James
Critz both were collecting water samples behind FIU’s north campus when an unidentified
male approached them with a what’s to be assumed as a tree branch and began
beating the two teens.
Problem: This could have been avoided if the
teens had any self defense training or had something to protect themselves
with, for example pepper spray. Sadly, in today’s world it has become clear
time and time again, that relying on others can sometimes be ineffective. Knowing
how to defend yourself and carrying something to defend yourself with can mean
the difference between life and death. Increasing security may stop events but
not the problem.
Who has the problem: The student body and individuals who
continue to rely on others for absolute protection.
5. “CHARGE:
TEACHER HID VIDEO CAMERA” (https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/openurl?ctx_ver=z39.88-2004&rft_id=info%3Asid/infoweb.newsbank.com&svc_dat=WORLDNEWS&req_dat=0D0CB57BE7FF6D8A&rft_val_format=info%3Aofi/fmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Actx&rft_dat=document_id%3Anews%252F16E6A32E2995D020)
Summary: Mark William Ackett, a high school teacher
and coach had placed two camera phones in a changing room for the design class
he taught. A group of female students found the camera phone and went directly
to the administration, which called the police. This led to detectives
investigating and to Ackett’s testimony admitting to charges.
Problem: The problem here is that no one
addresses the areas that may present a danger to the students. The lack of awareness
that administration has for these kinds of issues can put students in danger.
Who has the problem: The student body has the
main issue as the are the victim of such crimes.

Forming An Opportunity Belief
Opportunity
When busy schedules arise breakfast can sometimes become an
impossible activity. Classes, projects, assignments, and all-nighters can all
reduce your time to cook. Therefore, students end up eating at unhealthy fast-food restaurants, which lack vitamins and minerals, while they maintain an
unbalanced macronutrient index. This lack of nutrients has been around for what
seems some time and has been known as the “Freshmen 20”. This is in reference to
the amount of weight the new classmen tend to gain due to the reduction of healthy
meals now that they are on their own. Some individuals turn to supplements and artificial
meal replacement powders, which have unhealthy chemicals, for example, carcinogens
like food coloring. Therefore, I think that there is an opportunity here to
help students, or busy individuals, in have a quick nutritious meal replacement
made from rich antioxidant fruits and other vitamin-rich sources while maintaining
a health macronutrient intake. I am 60 percent sure this opportunity exists.
Iteration
1(student)
1)
Have you ever been so busy that you’ve skipped a meal? What have
you done after to accommodate this lack of food?
a.
Yes, sadly it happens to me all the time. I wake up and don’t have
enough time to eat, if I do I miss the bus. What I do is have an early lunch.
2)
When do your lunch and dinner usually consist of?
a.
I usually have
chick-fil-a, I love it! And it's easy to cause its right on campus.
3)
Have you ever been deficient from a vitamin or mineral?
a.
No, not that I know of, but I was told to have vitamin D.
4)
Do you experience fatigue from a lack of food?
a.
I have felt fatigued at the gym, but I usually just finished my
workout anyways. I sometimes just stop and go home.
5)
If you could have an organic meal replacement shake over
supplements company shakes, would you? Why so?
a.
I wouldn’t mind but it depends how much, organic stuff is so
expensive! I would buy it if it was cheap or about the same price as my regular
shake.
2(student)
1)Have you ever been so busy that you’ve skipped a meal? What
have you done after to candidate this lack of food?
Usually, my weekdays are filled with classes, work, and studying.
There have been days where I lose track of time and remember that I have to
eat once the dining hall is closed. When this occurs I stop by smoothie king on
my way home and buy a protein shake which can serve as a meal replacement.
2)Have you ever been deficient from a vitamin or mineral?
Yes, there are nights where I wake up with a cramp in my leg
which feels like I’m being stabbed in the leg. After conducting research, I
came to the conclusion that this was occurring due to a potassium deficiency.
3)Do you experience fatigue from lack of food?
Yes, but this has only happened when I go over 8 hours without
eating.
4)If you could have an organic meal replacement shake over
supplements company shakes, would you? Why so?
I would choose the organic meal replacement shake over company
shakes. Over the years I have become a lot more conscious of what I am putting
in my body and prefer to stay away from harmful chemicals.
5) When do your lunch and dinner usually consist of?
My lunch is usually peanut butter and jelly sandwich with an
apple and my dinners usually consist of some sort of protein accompanied by
vegetables.
Reflection
I have learned that cost is important. Maintaining a reasonable
cost could potential led to more skeptical costumers. Vitamin deficiencies are
hard to see in a first world country but could still present to be an issue. I
am surprised to see that so many individuals do not have time to eat breakfast.
Summarize
My opportunity seems to still be in there, some adjustments need
to be made but that will come with time.
My Entrepreneurship Story
Entrepreneurship Story
My entrepreneurship
story beings with my father’s and I’s company. As immigrants we came to this
country for the American dream, which we have accomplished. Throughout my
academic career, I regrettably had no choice but to dutifully incorporate
myself into the family business full-time. My father herniated three disks and
was bedridden for several months and has since been unable to perform the heavy
manual labor involved in our a/c service business. The business is the only
source of income for my family and required my attention in order to stay
afloat. Therefore, I divided every instant of time I could muster between a
schedule of classes, labs, homework and a full-time Job without a wage. Even
so, I still continued my involvement within the business, managing phone calls,
attending to all correspondence, and driving down for big jobs. In 2017, I
began examinations to become a certified Florida Air Conditioning Contractor
which would allow for the necessary expansion of the business. Once I was able
to pass the necessary licensing exams, I became the qualifying agent and the
co-owner. Since I have been managing certain aspects of the company. Also, I have
set myself on a journey to expand my knowledge on the business world. Thus, my
reason for taking ENT3003; this course can provide me with the proper skills to
expand to new heights.

Bug List
ENT3003
Assignment 2A-Bug List
Why; There is only one lane for what seems to be 8 apartment complexes filled with students. This means that when school starts there are a numerus amounts of students attempting to drive to school causing a traffic congestion.
2)My upstairs neighbor stepping/stomping through his apartment all day long.
Why; he might be a sumo wrestler or aerobics instructor. Also, the ceiling might be poorly constructed with cheap thin material allowing for sound to travel through.
3)The drive-through line at Chick-Fil-A on Archer is always backed up.
Why; This could be due to a lack of employees, so the fast food restaurant is running understaffed. This causes for a surge of costumers to overrun its current capacity.
4)The fact that I cannot fall asleep until its 2 am or later.
Why; This could be due to my late exercising hours where I start a workout at 8 pm and finish at 10pm. Thus, creating an adrenalin pump right before my supposed bedtime. Also, academic stress could be impairing my sleep pattern.
5)Bus stops along 20th avenue that do not have shelters.
Why; Low Budget or budgeting issues could be causing this problem. Thus, only heavily student populated areas receive shelters.
6)Traffic on the Florida Turnpike when an accident occurs even if vehicles involved have been moved.
Why; human nature, when witnessing something out of the ordinary everyone seems intrigued and can’t seem to proceed in and orderly fashion.
7)When a driver fails to yield for another driver indicating a change of lane.
Why; Inferiority complex, allowing a driver to proceed leads to these individuals feeling small and powerless. Thus, their aggressive style of driving.
8)Drivers that speed past you just to find themselves at a red light with you.
Why; This could be because of the enjoyment their music brings, which can cause a rise in emotions. Therefore, these drivers feel “the need for speed” (Top Gun reference).
9)Groups of girls that come to Newell to study but do everything but that, at a rude level of volume.
Why; They seem to not comprehend what common courtesy is, while the University does not implement a silent floor rule.
10)YouTube advertisements popping up every video.
Why; YouTubers have monetized their videos with out any regulation or control of the amount of videos they could monetize.
11)Over-priced workout supplements.
Why; Marketing, with companies marketing fitness as a simple pill popping activity, the industry has misled individual into believing that by taking “cool” supplements their fitness/physique goals are achievable. This has increased demand for products, therefore, companies have increased prices.
12)Misleading fitness/physique goals implemented by models in the fitness industry.
Why; there is a growing rage with the fitness community and this has led to people believing impossible physiques are achievable. Fitness models lying about steroid use in order to maintain fitness programs sells, all on false pretenses.
13)Watching the Florida Gators lose last Fall, specifically to Georgia.
Why; the credit card scam that got 8 players suspended from the team. Also, the lack of coaching skill from the head coach, names will not be mentioned, and the lack of talent from our quarterback position.
14)Getting bit by Rats, specifically Long-Evens breed, during research.
Why; the cohort of rats receive a series of steroid injections and are placed in a washout, which places them in withdraw. This makes them extremely agitated and aggressive.
15)My apartment making strange noises at night.
Why; this could be noise from a ghost living in my apartment, but it could also be from the old wood within the walls, which expands and crackles. Old water pipes could move when sinks are opened due to water pressure changes and make noise.
16)Having to walk .5 of a mile to throw away my garbage.
Why; there are only two garbage bins for a large apartment complex and both are placed at the ends of the complex. Also, poor management of funds has prevented the purchase of a third bin for the center of the apartment complex.
17)Automated answering machines that force you to leave a voicemail when there are operators available.
Why; poor IT attention and poorly written software that malfunctions.
18)Broken wheel bearings on shopping carts at Publix on archer.
Why; the store is attempting to reduce cost by pushing old carts on customers until their absolute breakdown.
19)A morning breakfast that takes too long to cook and consume on busy mornings, which means having to wake up earlier.
Why; being a 6’4” fitness enthusiast my body requires a heavy breakfast, about 600 calories worth to be exact. Cooking a 600 calorie nutritious meal takes time to make. Therefore, waking up early to cook has become a dreadful norm.
20)Maintaining a low sodium intake.
Why; sodium is found in many products that are pre-made, as a flavor additive and preservative. In a busy schedule pre-made products can be time savers and sometime are necessary in order not to starve.
Reflection
This assignment is very interesting, I had never sat
down and analyzed the things that bother me in my everyday life. I was told
this would be difficult to do; however, this was not the case for me. The first
three were the most difficult but, once I got the ball moving it became easier and
easier. They presented a challenge because of the lack of experience, not know
exactly where to start or how. Once I began to self-evaluate it became easier. This has opened a new perspective I never
seemed to understand nor think about, maybe now I can fix some of them.
